Thank You

Thank you to everyone who participated in The David K. Johnson Foundation’s 16th annual golf tournament. It was an incredible day. Sunny skies and a course filled with friends old and new out to have fun while raising money for a great cause. Mission accomplished. There were so many memorable parts of our day, too many to recount, but we’ll name just a few. The Vermont boys turned their day into a Bachelor party for Todd, their decorated golf cart was the talk of the course. 16 years and counting, we now have some annual golfers bringing along their own children to share in this amazing day. Each of our golfers worked hard for a hole in one and a chance to win a Honda Civic, a flat screen TV and/or a set of Callaway Diablo Irons. No luck this year, but there’s always 2017! Tom Sheehan won closet to the pin for 3 Patriots Tickets and Jacquie Carson was lucky enough to win our sought after door prize, The Coolest Cooler sponsored by Spano& Dawicki. We might have to bring that door prize back next year. Our refreshing slush hole, sponsored by Douglass Funeral Home and our complimentary beverage carts, sponsored by Salem Five are always a hit. Our Title Sponsor, ARTIS introduced their Senior Living Center opening in Reading this winter and announced they are hiring up to 50 people.

Our afternoon ended with great food and conversations and an impactful speech by one of our board members, Jim Cormier, whose father recently passed from Alzheimer’s. The emotional and uplifting surprise of the night for everyone, including the Cormier family was the unveiling of the First Annual Cormier Cup, which we presented to this year’s first place champions Tom Clarke, Chris Parker, Joe Tanguay and Nick Wells. A powerful standing ovation paid tribute to another man and friend who has fallen to this disease. Each year, our Champion’s names will live forever on The Cormier Cup.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so we’ll end our thank you to all of you with some photos from our day.

We’ll see you next year!
