DEMENTIA FRIENDLY READING

The David K. Johnson Foundation is proud to support Dementia Friendly Reading. Based off of Dementia Friendly Massachusetts, this is a grassroots movement to make Massachusetts and its communities be Dementia Friendly by providing a safe and supportive environment for those with dementia. Dementia Friendly Reading strives to establish Reading as a town that empowers those with dementia and their caregivers to feel valued and actively engaged in the community.

1. Recognize: Spread awareness about dementia and inform the community on resources to become dementia-friendly.

2. Respect: Ensure individuals living with dementia feel welcomed, valued and engaged.

3. Reimagine: Fight the stigma of dementia. Help those living with dementia and their caregivers feel supported in our community.
